Terms of Service

Welcome to Poliko. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Poliko mobile application and related services (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Using Poliko
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial language learning.
2. Subscriptions & billing
Poliko offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions. Paid subscriptions are billed through your App Store account and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store settings.
3. Free trials
If you start a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends. If you do not cancel before the trial period expires, your subscription will begin and the applicable fee will be charged.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including attempting to reverse-engineer it, disrupt its operation, submit unlawful or abusive content, or use it to harass others. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Intellectual property
The App, including its content, design, and software, is owned by Poliko and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes.
6. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that AI-generated feedback or translations are error-free. Poliko is a learning aid, not a substitute for professional instruction.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Poliko is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Apple App Store Terms
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
Acknowledgement. These Terms are concluded between you and A Labs Inc. only — not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). A Labs Inc., not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
Scope of license. The license granted to you is a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
Maintenance and support. A Labs Inc. is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the App. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
Warranty. A Labs Inc. is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are the sole responsibility of A Labs Inc.
Product claims. A Labs Inc., not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
Intellectual property. In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, A Labs Inc., not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your wireless data service agreement).
Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
